Count them Yes I have 8

My Harry Potter book 7 Adventure

My kids all read and love Harry Potter. Don't get me wrong I love the books as well but we all agreed we would go to Borders and go to the party to get our books at Midnight. So I went over after lunch and got our wristbands. I went over to Borders about 9:30 with Nate and it was a mad house. I have been to the other parties but this was way different. Wall to wall people. Now Nate doesn't like crowds and this was no place to put a person who doesn't like crowds. He soon asked if he could go to the car. So here I am by myself. Remember I was suppose to do this with my Kids. My Sister came with her granddaughter about 10:30 but Piper is only 4 and soon got tired. So again I was left by myself. They started calling the wristbands about 11:30 and I get a call from Ben, one of those that were to be with me. He wanted to know if we were lining up yet. I said yes and were has he been. Of course he had a very good excuse. Becky had to work until midnight so she had a good excuse. Here I am standing in line for 3 books and 1 set of audio CD for people that weren't here. About 12:20 Becky called and said that she was out front and the line went around the building. She came in and stayed with me until we got our books. We got out of there about 1:30 am. That is the longest I had to wait for a book. Of course I had to come home and read a little. And no I haven't finished it yet. So back to the book.

Sunday, July 8, 2007

I just love going to Bend for the 4th of July. I get to see my sister and husband and their kids and grand kids. I have officially declared myself old. I started babysitting my oldest niece at the age of 12. She now has a daughter that is 14 and is babysitting. While we were there she was studying for her permit test. That can't be. Every time I saw her with the book I would take it away from her and tell her that it was to old for her. She would just laugh and me and say Aunt Char I'm going to be 15 soon. Just put salt in the wound girl.

My sisters house is great for watching a fireworks display. All you have to do is take your drink of choice to the back yard with your chair and wait. Just don't get up from your chair or someone will steal it. The fireworks are shot off Pilot Butte. Early in the day you see the fire department hosing it down with water and foam. But it doesn't matter how much they put down there still is a fire on the butte. I have been going over there for at least 27 years (when the 4th falls on or close to a weekend) and they always have a fire. Just isn't the 4th if they don't have a fire. Do we sound sick.

While I was there I was able to do three pages. I was surprised because it was 103 and my sister doesn't have air conditioning. Of course they set records, my brother-in-law said it never gets this hot over hear. I know one thing I can mark Bend off my list for towns to move to when I retire. I don't like the heat.

I did it

I have been putting this off for so long. I have been afraid that I wouldn't have much to say or that my pages wouldn't be as good as the rest of you. As I was getting ready to post some of my pictures I found that I did the same thing that Christina did and my pictures are not 12x12. I have to start all over. Check my blogg after the 4th and I will have something to impress you with.
