I just love going to Bend for the 4th of July. I get to see my sister and husband and their kids and grand kids. I have officially declared myself old. I started babysitting my oldest niece at the age of 12. She now has a daughter that is 14 and is babysitting. While we were there she was studying for her permit test. That can't be. Every time I saw her with the book I would take it away from her and tell her that it was to old for her. She would just laugh and me and say Aunt Char I'm going to be 15 soon. Just put salt in the wound girl.

My sisters house is great for watching a fireworks display. All you have to do is take your drink of choice to the back yard with your chair and wait. Just don't get up from your chair or someone will steal it. The fireworks are shot off Pilot Butte. Early in the day you see the fire department hosing it down with water and foam. But it doesn't matter how much they put down there still is a fire on the butte. I have been going over there for at least 27 years (when the 4th falls on or close to a weekend) and they always have a fire. Just isn't the 4th if they don't have a fire. Do we sound sick.

While I was there I was able to do three pages. I was surprised because it was 103 and my sister doesn't have air conditioning. Of course they set records, my brother-in-law said it never gets this hot over hear. I know one thing I can mark Bend off my list for towns to move to when I retire. I don't like the heat.
